Bike Fit & Aerodynamics: USA Cycling Course

USA Cycling CEU Course on Bike Fit and Aerodynamics from Fast Talk Labs

See your athletes find more speed, comfort, and confidence, all through smarter positioning. Our online course, “Bike Fit & Aerodynamics,” teaches you how to apply the latest science of bike fit, aerodynamics, and biomechanics to help riders feel better and go faster. With guidance from Dr. Andy Pruitt, coach and bike fitter Colby Pearce, and Todd Carver, cofounder of Retül and Head of Human Performance at Specialized, you’ll uncover what truly makes a position fast, sustainable, and injury-free — without guesswork or one-size-fits-all formulas.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Read the rider first—conduct effective interviews and off-bike screens to identify the real source of discomfort or inefficiency before changing a single bolt.
  • Balance power and aerodynamics across road, triathlon, gravel, and MTB—see why a slightly higher front end often leads to lower drag and more power.
  • Use motion capture, video, and pressure mapping to visualize how the pelvis interacts with the saddle and spot subtle asymmetries that cause pain or power loss.
  • Select and position saddles with precision, applying insights from Dr. Andy Pruitt, EdD, who pioneered pressure mapping and modern saddle design, to fix issues like chafing, numbness, and instability.
  • Apply real-world aero testing protocols that any coach can use — validate gains on the road with simple power, heart rate, and speed comparisons, not just lab data.

Whether your athletes race time trials, stage races, or long gravel events, this course will help you discover the invisible details that make the difference between “strong” and “fast.” You’ll complete the course able to set powerful positions your athletes can race for hours—because true speed starts with fit, not just fitness.
